The Habitat

Our Virginia waterfowl hunting service operates in the North East part of Virginia, in areas not too far from the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge at Assateague Island and Wallops Island, Virginia. At these surrrounding wetlands, waterfowl visit this part of the Atlantic Flyway each year. It is one of the most scenic areas in the United States when it comes to duck hunting due in part to the large amount of surrounding water and marsh ecosystems creating ideal grounds for dozens of species of waterfowl. The area also has a very low human population density. The unspoiled environment is the perfect compliment to large concentrations of migrating waterfowl that head for security and a food supply that Assateague's refuge and other nearby protected areas offer. At times you can find some of the most exciting and ideal waterfowl hunting of the Atlantic flyway. As a result, the area is one of the top three birding sites in America, and boasts one of the highest densities of waterfowl. With such ideal hunting conditions found along Assateague's boarders, the vast marshlands and waterways, this is a place every duck hunter should visit.

The Chincoteague and Assateague Island area combined with the Chincoteague NWR, abundance of security to nearby waterfowl hunting marsh lands, agriculture and open water create an excellent staging area for migrating waterfowl. These conditions encourage large numbers of birds to congregate each year.
