If fishing in Ocean City, Chincoteague, or Assateague, you will notice the croaker
is especially plentiful during the mid summer months. They are often found in
the surf as well as bays, channels, inlets, and most all inland water areas around
Assateague, Ocean City and Chincoteague Bay. | FEATURES: | |
This fish has the appearance of a trout or black drum in color and shape, but
is found in a much smaller size range. The croaker makes a croaking sound when
caught. Average sizes are a 1/2 to 3 pounds and often more. A tasty addition to

A scrappy
fighter pound for pound, their sheer numbers can wear you out after a while. Great
for light tackle, they can be caught on squid, peeler crabs, minnows, silver sides,
and jigs. | |
