at Assateague Island National Seashore |
|
Camping
at Assateague Island National Seashore is permitted only on the Maryland side
of Assateague. National Park Service provides bayside and oceanside campsite year
round. Assateague State Park is also located on Maryland side of Assateague and
provides over 300 campsites. Backcountry camping is also available for campers
who wish to backpack or paddle the island. No camping available on the Virginia
side of Assateague. Look to the commercial campgrounds
on Chincoteague Island if
you are visiting the Virginia side of Assateague Island. |
